The bedroom closet is where most things go to die. At least, this is how it is in our house. When I open my bedroom closet I am afraid that something is going to come out of the shadows and grab me. If it’s the same way at your house, you should really focus on time to organize your closet.
Here are some tips:
If you have clothes that you haven’t worn in over a year, get rid of them. If it doesn’t fit, or if you refuse to wear it because it is too out dated, toss it. The same goes for any shoes that don’t fit right or just aren’t comfortable (even if they are brand new). If you aren’t going to wear it, there is no point in having it.
Try to go through your closet and get rid of things before you put anything new in there. Don’t just pile your clothes on the floor though! Either hang them up or fold them neatly so that they don’t become a wrinkled or damaged.
Pick a day that you will dedicate to your closet. Many people will say that they will go and get to it but something comes up. They get a phone call or they find something cool on Netflix. If you want to clean your closet, do it, have Netflix on in the background and have your friends come over and help.
Trust me, it goes much faster when you have some help and can divide the work.
I really hope this helps!
Once you do it make sure that you maintain it. Don’t put anything new into the closet without throwing something out. You will also start to realize what it is you are wearing all the time and what just hangs in your closet.
